This is a prototype.
Drizzle currently runs on play money only. The coins in the app cannot be bought, sold, withdrawn, or exchanged for anything of value, and no real funds are involved at any point. These terms cover that prototype. Before Drizzle handles real money, they will be replaced and you will be asked to agree to the new ones.
These terms are an agreement between you and Drizzle covering your use of the app. By using it, you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
What Drizzle is
Drizzle is a prototype app for making predictions about the weather. You are shown questions with two possible answers, such as whether a city will exceed a temperature today, and you take a position using play-money coins. Questions are settled against published weather data.
The coins are not money
Coins in Drizzle have no monetary value. They cannot be purchased, sold, redeemed, withdrawn, transferred, or exchanged for cash, cryptocurrency, goods, or anything else. They are a score. Nothing in the app is a wager for money, and no winnings are payable.
We may adjust, reset, or remove balances at any time, including to correct a fault or to reset the prototype.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 and using Drizzle from somewhere it is lawful to do so. You are responsible for knowing whether that is the case where you are.
How questions are settled
Settlement uses weather data from Open-Meteo for the city and day named in the question, in that city’s local time. Weather data is sometimes revised, delayed, or wrong. We may correct a settlement that was made on faulty data, and our determination is final.
Availability
This is a prototype. It may be slow, wrong, interrupted, changed, or withdrawn at any time without notice, and data may be deleted. There is no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or continuity, and no obligation on us to keep it running.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the app or its infrastructure, and do not use automated means to manipulate prices or balances. We may suspend access to anyone doing so.
Not advice
Nothing in Drizzle is financial, investment, or trading advice, and prices shown in the app are not a forecast you should rely on for any decision that matters.
No warranty and limits on liability
Drizzle is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Because the app involves no money and nothing of value, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app develops. Drizzle does not currently handle real money. Before it does, these terms will be replaced with ones written for that, and you will be asked to agree to them.
